If you are an avid reader of my blog, you know I love me some Tori Kelly. I was lucky enough to snag some tickets to the Tori Kelly Unbreakable Tour in Boston, MA. I saw her perform at Global Citizen last year and I was so excited to witness her talent in person once again.

I’m about five hours from Boston so my friend Heidi and I drove out the morning of the concert. We got there around noon to check out the venue, House of Blues.

Then, we discovered a secret called “Pass the Line” where if you eat at the House of Blues restaurant, you can skip the line. We were planning on grabbing a bite to eat before the concert anyway, so we thought this would be perfect.

We went back to the hotel and took our time getting ready. The restaurant opened at 4pm and the doors opened for the concert at 6pm. So we figured we’d head to the restaurant a bit before four to get right in.

Heidi and I went with a black and gold theme. I paired a black Tobi romper with a gold sequin kimono. Pictured are super comfy black wedges, however, I switched to black booties before the show. I’m glad I did because the venue was standing room only. The wedges probably would have been fine, but I wanted to try to be as comfy as possible; as I had no idea where I would be standing for the show.

When we got to the House of Blues, the line for the concert was all the way down the street. I started to panic a bit but we made our way to the restaurant. It is also important to note that the House of Blues is directly across the street from Fenway Park and the Yankees at Red Sox game was at the exact same time. This street was PACKED.

At first, security would not let us into the restaurant. They sent us to the complete back of the line and claimed they would go through the line and ask if people wanted to eat there. This made absolutely no sense as no one in the line wanted to eat, they were just in line for the show. Security was legitimately yelling at each other and it really seemed like no one knew what was going on. When the same guy who sent us to the back of the line let someone else who arrived after us into the restaurant, we told him again we wanted to eat and he rolled his eyes and let us in. In my opinion, security was not on the same page at all. If we didn’t badger him about getting into the restaurant, it would have been his fault if we were in the complete back of the crowd and starving since we didn’t eat. In my opinion, the House of Blues really needs to work on their communication to its security staff. I get that they were probably stressed with the amount of people, but when two security guards are screaming at each other in front of the crowd, something is wrong.

When we finally got into the restaurant, the waitresses were all well-informed of the “Pass the Line” program. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Moment of silence for their Parmesan Truffle fries…..UGH! SO GOOD! I believe I ordered something called a Razzmatazz, but I cannot confirm it because their menu online is not the same as the one we ordered from at the restaurant. But it was sweet and tangy and the perfect stress reliever.

When we were done eating, we did, in fact, skip most of the line and joined a new one outside the venue. We didn’t have to wait long until we were let in.

There was some confusion at first because I thought mezzanine was basically on the floor, just a little higher up, but it ended up being an entire other level. We were some of the first to get there so we snagged a perfect spot right against the railing in perfect view of the stage. We were told if you nicely asked, you may be able to get on the floor level, but Heidi and I decided against it as the floor level was completely packed and we would probably have to view the entire concert through someone else’s phone screen.

We grabbed some merch while saving each other’s spots because people were trying to weasel their way into our well-deserved spots. Before you know it, Thirdstory took the stage. Heidi and I had a bit of a moment because the last concert we saw together was Taylor Swift and the first song Thirdstory played was Style. Obviously, it was fate.

These guys were crazy good and right up my alley. Tight harmonies make my heart swoon.

And then, it was time. The queen took the stage. And the crowd went nuts.

This girl is so incredibly talented, it’s unbelievable. Her riffs were tight and belts were phemoninal and she did it all while jumping around the stage. (Girl, what is your workout because your stamina is INSANE.)

I got an amazing vid of my favorite song “Nobody Love” and posted it on my Instagram so go check it out!

She sang some songs from her album and transitioned into some older songs she released before she was “famous.” She also took the time to acknowledge her YouTube start and sang some songs only her early fans would know. It was incredibly humbling to see a girl from YouTube, who Simon Cowel rejected from American Idol, make it big and sell out the House of Blues.

I had such an amazing time dancing and singing with Heidi and Tori and I left the concert somehow loving her even more than I already did, which I didn’t think was possible.

We finished off the night with some dessert at Max Brenner. Guys. I died and went to heaven here. Between the four of us, we split the Melting Chocolate Truffle Heart Cake, the Salted Caramel Milkshake, and the Hava Milkshake. If you’re in Boston and are craving anything sweet, you MUST go here. The 30 minute wait was a little steep but it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

So who have you seen in concert lately? Do you have a favorite song by Tori Kelly? And what is your favorite thing to do in Boston? Let me know in the comments below!

(I promise I will be getting back to the fashion and beauty posts next week!)
