First post of the year goes to the outfit I wore on New Year’s!
I fell in love with this velvet, off-the-shoulder top from Topshop and was devastated when it sold out before I got a chance to purchase it. Because I am persistent, I kept checking for weeks to see if it would come back in stock in my size. And what do you know, a little less than a week before New Year’s Eve, I stumbled upon a petite size 6, (which fits like a petite size 2-4 according to the website,) on Nordstrom! I ordered it immediately and rush shipped it because there was no way I would be without this top for New Year’s Eve.
Nordstrom has the best customer service and the top came in plenty of time and fit perfectly, (I’m usually a petite size 4.) If you ever have an issue with Nordstrom, I’ve found that tweeting at them is a great way to get their attention. They are very good about responding on Twitter.
Because I knew I would probably be bar hopping on the night of New Year’s Eve, I didn’t really want to wear a dress and freeze my tush off in the Central New York cold. Thus, this cute holiday top was ideal. I obviously wanted it to be the focus, so I paired the top with simple black pants, knee-high boots, and a black clutch.
If you’re wondering where this gorgeous location is, it’s Union Station in Utica, NY. Built in 1914, this, in my opinion, completely underrated building has beautiful marble architecture. I could spend hours just staring at the ceiling.
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to start posting more. Is there anything you’d like to see? Let me know of any requests in the comments below!
I’m also curious about your New Year’s Resolutions! Share them with me and we’ll attempt to actually keep them together.
